Sightseeing
Whithorn Priory - The remains of the monastery was founded by Lord Fergus of Galloway in 1130ad. There is a visitor centre adjacent ot the monastery.

St Ninians Chapel, Isle of Whithorn - The restored Christian chapel is located on the rocks overlooking Wigtown Bay.

Bladnoch Distillery - The local distillery is a must see for any visitor to the area. Still producing a fine selection of local whiskey, the distillery sits alongside the Bladnoch River and is a picturesque location for a picnic or a relaxing stroll. The gift shop sells a range of Bladnoch whiskeys as well as a fine selection of local crafts.

Sorbie Tower - The Sorbie Tower dates from around 1542 and was occupied until around 1748 and was owned by the Clan Hannay family.

Walking and family activities
Viewfield is located near the Galloway Forest Park, which is the largest forest park in the UK of 300 square miles to explore. Click here for more information. Local beaches are only a short distance and perfect for children to play in the sand.
